I have been thinking a lot about community over the past several years. Many of us have had to re-think what community is at the most basic level – and what it is not – coming out of the pandemic.
A lot of airtime is given to the concept that “people make the world go around.” Sadly, we as leaders often create a performance driven culture with a shamefully small amount of consideration given to the humans who are actually producing the work.
As leaders, if we start with anything less than a passion to see those we are leading and working alongside loved, encouraged, empowered and nurtured, we are destined to have a cultural drift that will always lead to a retrospective meta-narrative that leaves much wanting anthropologically.
