It becomes increasingly difficult to say no to things that are off vision if you don’t know both where you are going and how you plan to get there. In this instant gratification culture we are forgetting the underpinnings of what got us here.
Vision: a clear picture of what the future could look like if we followed…
Our mission: the specific actions we would take to accomplish our vision which was filtered through…
Our Values: the moral and ethical filters that would keep us out of the ditches of greed, envy and selfishness amongst other ills.
But why not go week to week trying to do good (maybe), or great (by what definition?), by saying yes to everything?
Maybe we need to spend some time redefining those still relevant concepts of Vision, Mission, and Values, and then filter our yes or no through the lens that affords.
